RALEIGH, OCT 23 – The Nano Tracks N320 is a very small remote control excavator at only 1/64 of the actual size.

Although it looks like a toy of its size, it is fully functional with six independent motors giving you precise control over every movement as if operating like a real excavator, according to reports Oddity Central.

It’s definitely not suitable for you to go in and operate it manually but with Nano Tracks N320 it comes with a very accurate RC (remote control) control with the available modes. One control conforms to the industry standard ISO (Caterpillar control), while the second allows you to control the track independently.

Why bother building a working excavator this big? According to the founder of NANO TRACKS, Jonathan Abbott, it all started a few years ago when he found a group of hobbyists on YouTube who liked to play with a small, fully functional RC excavator.

He was intrigued to try but he failed to find it online. That’s when he decided to build one for himself.

Jonathan taught himself to use CAD, bought a 3D printer, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Jonathan’s first creation was made of resin (a type of material used in construction), but its brittleness and inconsistency on such a small scale forced him to look at other, more durable materials.

The Nano Tracks N320 prototype took about 2,300 hours of hard work to complete but now Abbott and his team have a repeatable procedure they can use to bring the world’s smallest working excavator to the public.

The Nano Tracks N320 excavator was launched at the campaign Kickstarter with the goal of crowdfunding US$20,000.

The campaign achieved a proud success when Jonathan Abbot was able to collect more than US$268,000 with 70 days left until the campaign ends. – Agency
