KOTA BHARU, 29 OCT – The sound of explosions and tremors that occurred in Ipoh, Perak is still classified as a mystery, said Deputy Inspector General of Police, Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.
He said the police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
“So far, the police have not been able to confirm the noise because it is still a mystery,” he told reporters when asked to comment on the progress of the investigation into the case after attending the Kelantan Police Chief’s handover ceremony at the Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters today.
On 21 October last, Perak Police Chief, Datuk Azizi Mat Aris was reported to have said that a check with the North Brigade of the General Operations Force, Ulu Kinta, showed that no explosion-related training had been carried out, while a check with the Land and Mines Office also found that no blast had been carried out at the quarry before 12 noon. that day.
Following that, the results of the review with the Malaysian Meteorological Department found that Malaysia, especially in Ipoh, was not affected by any seismic activity despite the earthquake that occurred in Halmahera, Indonesia on 21 October last.
Meanwhile, when asked to comment on flood preparations in Kelantan following the North East Monsoon which is expected to start next month, Ayob Khan said his party has organized the membership movement to deal with MTL.
He said his party had held a meeting and made thorough preparations in terms of vehicles, boats, even the strength of officers and policemen in Kelantan alone involved more than 1,000 members who were ready to face MTL.
“This flood is not a new thing, but rather an annual event that happens every year and the preparation does not only involve the police but with all agencies,” he said. – Named
