BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 8 – Brunei Darussalam Girl Guide Association held an event Walk For Peace in conjunction with the 2024 World Peace Day Celebration which took place at the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guide Association Headquarters (PPPBD), Anggerek Desa, Berakas, today.
The World Peace Day celebration organized by PPPBD is one of the association’s annual activities with a theme Maintain Peace and Harmony.
Present as the guest of honor at the ceremony was the Lifetime Vice President of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guide Association, Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohd Ali. Also present at the ceremony was the Chief Commissioner of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association, Dayang Norazrina binti Haji Sarbini, commissioners and members of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association.
The event began with a prayer of thanksgiving by the Spiritual Commissioner of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guide Association, Ustazah Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abdul Ghani and was followed by the presentation of a brief tazkirah titled Security by PPPBD Junior Leader Commissioner, Dr Mariam binti Haji Abdul Rahman.
The event continued with aerobics activities and was followed by the launch of a walking event at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, which was also attended by Datin Hajah Masni.
Activity Walk For Peace that aims to welcome and celebrate World Peace Day 2024 by promoting healthy lifestyle practices through physical and leisure activities, promoting awareness of the importance of universal peace as well as increasing and strengthening the feeling of goodwill and friendship among association members.
