Torn-up streets, flooded cellars, collapsed houses: many residents in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland experienced the devastating damage that extreme weather can cause in Germany a few months ago. Enormous amounts of rain in the summer caused flooding, landslides and flooded streets.
