Fraud, attempted theft: Shaker Boulevard
Pepper Pike officials reported to police Oct. 15 that an as-yet unknown suspect emailed the Human Resources department in an unsuccessful attempt to change the payroll direct deposit information for one of the city’s employees — that would have sent it elsewhere.
Police planned to subpoena additional information on the email address given by the suspect to determine where the paycheck would have gone had the online heist been successful.
Disabled vehicle, driving under suspension: Kersdale Road
A patrol officer came across a disabled GMC Terrain around 9:30 a.m. Oct. 15 and found the driver, a Euclid woman, 34, sleeping, apparently as she was waiting on roadside assistance.
She did eventually get a tow to the impound lot as police found she’d been driving on a suspended license.
Suspicion: Shaker Boulevard
A parent from the Lillian and Betty Ratner Montessori School came into the police station Oct. 15 to document possible ongoing bullying between two girls.
Ratner School officials told police the matter would be handled in-house.
Assist rescue squads: Chagrin Boulevard
First responders were called to the Waterway car wash and gas station Oct. 15 after a woman fell inside the store. She was treated at the scene and taken to Ahuja Medical Center.
Then on Oct. 17, police and an ambulance crew responded to the New Directions residential drug treatment center for a teenage client who appeared to be under the influence of unknown substances during the admissions process.
She was also taken to Ahuja for further treatment and evaluation.
