Three major fires at one time in Harper County: 'Chaotic'

HARPER COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — Firefighters and other first responders were met with a troubling scene as they responded to a fire call southwest of Attica in Harper County on Thursday afternoon.

Harper County Undersheriff Kenny Hodson said it was a chaotic situation as they arrived – three fires threatening buildings.

“We had three major fires spread out across a three-mile area with rapid growth from the high winds,” he said in a Facebook post.

Hodson went out Friday morning to get aerial pictures and video of the damage.
