BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 25 – Three national boxers recently made Brunei famous by bringing home gold and silver medals at the Boxing Match in conjunction with Malaysia’s National Sports Day held in Limbang, Sarawak.
The match was also attended by boxers from Sarawak, Sabah and three teams from Brunei namely King Boxing Gym, Jab Gym and House Of Fitness.
The gold medal was won by Alif from King Boxing Gym, Farhan from Jab Gym, Irfan from House of Fitness, while the silver medal was won by Syahmi from King Boxing Gym and Luqman from House Of Fitness.
When interviewed Gem Media, Alif recounted the difficulty of going through three qualifying matches before going to the finals as there were many other great boxers and some of them had participated in the Sukma Games, the Sarawak Open and the Malaysian National Boxing.
Armed with a high fighting spirit, he was finally able to overcome it and win the gold medal.
He also advised the youth who are interested in boxing to show up to learn boxing and be disciplined to follow what the coach teaches.
