LUMUT, 6 OCT – Police are hunting three individuals suspected of throwing petrol bombs at a house in Taman Bintang, Pantai Remis early yesterday morning.
Manjung District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hasbullah Abdul Rahman said in the incident around 3:08 in the morning, nine bottles of petrol bombs were thrown towards the residence causing a car and motorcycle to catch fire.
“The police received a report at 9:36 am yesterday from a 25-year-old male victim who is also an employee of a quarry company. “Preliminary investigations found that the three individuals were riding in a Toyota Altis car and wearing face masks,” he said in a statement today.
Hasbullah said further inspection at the location also found five pieces of paper written in Chinese outside the fence of the victim’s house warning them to pay off the debt.
“The complainant, however, denied ever being involved in unlicensed money lending or enmity with people,” he said, adding that the case was investigated according to Section 435 of the Penal Code. – Named
