LOS ANGELES — Social media influencer Charli D’Amelio is set to make her Broadway debut.
D’Amelio will begin a limited three-month engagement in “& Juliet” on Oct. 29. The show is a jukebox musical version of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet.
The 20-year-old shared her excitement in a post on Instagram.
“this has been my ultimate dream ever since i was a little girl, but it always felt like something i could only admire from a distance, never imagining i’d actually get to be part of it. and now, here i am, starting this amazing new chapter in my life and cherishing every second,” she said in her caption.
D’Amelio has more than 155 million followers on TikTok and more than 40 million followers on Instagram, where she became famous posting videos of herself dancing. She was involved with competitive dance for more than a decade before starting her career on social media in 2019.
In 2022, D’Amelio won the thirty-first season of ABC’s dance competition series Dancing with the Stars.
The 20-year-old will take on the role of Charmian, a dance-heavy ensemble role in the show.
