Thirteen people were injured in a train accident between Xanten and Duisburg, three of them seriously. According to initial information from a spokesman for the Federal Police, the passenger train had, for unknown reasons, hit the side of a parked freight train at a level crossing at around 7:30 a.m. A rescue helicopter was deployed. The Federal Police used another to record the accident. The line has been closed since then.
