The Berlin fire brigade was alerted to a refugee shelter in Mitte on Friday evening. As the fire brigade announced in the evening, at around 8:40 p.m., for reasons that are still unknown, a large number of people were injured with eye and respiratory tract irritation.
Twelve people were treated by rescue workers, six of them were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Further details are not yet known. A total of 36 rescue workers were deployed. (Tsp)
