Two children are feared to be swept away by flood currents in Keningau

KOTA KINABALU, SEPT 25 – A two-year-old child and a two-month-old child are feared to have been swept away in a flood incident in Kampung Dalit, Sook, near Keningau, yesterday afternoon.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department’s Operation Operations Center (JBPM) in a statement today informed that the two victims were reported to have been swept away by the flood currents that hit their homes at 5pm yesterday.

According to the statement, there were seven victims swept away by the flood currents, but five of them survived while two others, a child and an infant, are still missing.

An emergency call about the incident was received at 10:06pm, before a team of officers and members from the Sook Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) and the Keningau BBP rushed to the scene of the incident which is about 110 kilometers away.

Members from BBP Keningau are at the scene of the incident to collect information from the victim.
Search and rescue (SAR) operations are still underway and information will be updated from time to time. – Named
