TEMBURONG, 24 OCT – The Royal Brunei Police Force (RPDB) managed to arrest two local men and confiscated contraband, namely several boxes of cigarettes and liquor.

According to a statement issued by the PPDB, here, a team from the Bangar Police Station carried out monitoring in Kampung Bekarut, Jalan Pandaruan Tamada after receiving information regarding smuggling activities.

During the monitoring at about 9pm, it was found that a black 4-wheel drive vehicle was being driven in a suspicious manner.

The police tried to stop the vehicle while passing through the Kampung Belais area, causing the vehicle to speed up and run away.

The driver and passenger then abandoned the vehicle in the middle of the road and fled into the forest. However, both suspects were tracked down and arrested by members of the Bangar Police Station.

All the contraband and the suspect were arrested at the Bangar Police Station. In addition, the Royal Customs and Excise Department (JKED) was also notified for further investigation.

PPDB reminds the public not to engage in any criminal activities and break the law in this country.

If you have information about criminal activities, it is recommended to pass the information to the nearest police station or through the emergency line 993.
