EUGENE, Ore. — Ohio State’s offensive line took a beating in the first half Saturday night against Oregon, as left tackle Josh Simmons was carted off the field midway through the second quarter.
That was after right guard Tegra Tshabola left the game with an injury, but stayed on the sideline. Austin Siereveld took over at right guard, as he had been rotating into the offensive line mix for weeks.
Tshabola later returned to the game in the second half.
Zen Michalski replaced Simmons at left tackle.
Simmons was one of the most irreplaceable players on the roster, considering what he brought to the offensive line and the drop-off in experience behind him.
Expect an update from coach Ryan Day after the game is over.
