The French judicial authorities are investigating the disappearance of two Paralympic participants from the Congo. The public prosecutor’s office in the Paris suburb of Bobigny confirmed this to the news agency AP. According to the report, the investigation began on September 7, and the authorities were informed two days earlier of the disappearance of a female and male athlete. A third person is also missing.

The newspaper “Le Parisien” reported that shot putter Mireille Nganga (48 years old) and visually impaired sprinter Emmanuel Grace Mouambako (35) disappeared on September 5. The people’s suitcases could not be found either, but their passports remained with the Congolese delegation. This was said by an official familiar with the investigation, who wished to remain anonymous. The Paralympic Committee from Congo did not comment on the case when asked by AP. Nganga and Mouambako were their country’s flag bearers at the opening ceremony in Paris.
