U.S. marshals arrest third suspect in slaying of Cleveland woman in May

CLEVELAND, Ohio – U.S. marshals arrested a third suspect Tuesday in the fatal shooting of a Cleveland woman in May.

Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Marshae Davis, 34, who was wanted by Cleveland police on charges of aggravated murder. Davis is the third suspect to be arrested in the death of Christie Bozeman, 28.

Bozeman was fatally shot May 3 in the 2400 block of Central Avenue in Cleveland. Authorities found her in her apartment with multiple gunshot wounds.

Davis was arrested at a residence in the 3200 block of Overlook Road in Cleveland Heights.

“Months after the initial arrest in this case, the Cleveland Division of Police homicide unit continues to pursue justice for this victim, as a third suspect is now in custody,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said. “We will continue to assist the Cleveland Division of Police in putting these violent fugitives behind bars.”

The others charged in the shooting are Leonai Johnson, 18, and Cashmere Cole, 26. On May 15, marshals arrested Johnson in an apartment in the same area where Bozeman was shot. In September, Johnson, of Cleveland, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. A judge sentenced her to five years of probation last week.

On Friday, Cleveland police arrested Cole on charges of aggravated murder. On Thursday, a judge set her bond at $1 million.
