CLEVELAND, Ohio — Claims by the Trump-Vance ticket that Haitian immigrants are stealing and eating pet cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio are completely false and the last thing the immigrants and rebounding city between Columbus and Dayton want or deserve.
The rumors have now been debunked by city and Clark county law enforcement and elected officials including Ohio Governor Mike DeWine
Sen. J.D. Vance, who grew up just north of Cincinnati, was first to start spreading the false rumors on social media. Then they were repeated by Putin pet, felon Donald Trump during his debate with Kamala Harris
“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs. The people that came in, they’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there. And this is what’s happening in our country. And it’s a shame.” Trump slandered in the debate.”
What’s really happening in Springfield, is that it drew in mostly legal Haitian immigrants seeking posted job openings and affordable housing that became available as part of Springfield’s economic revitalization efforts. Haitians gained reputations as good neighbors, coworkers and employees before the Trump anti-migrant toxicity spread along with the phony pet eating rumor
Deplorable enough that Vance and Trump have been defaming and endangering Haitian immigrants, they’ve now dragged in a young deceased Springfield boy killed in a school bus accident. The school bus had been hit by an illegal Haitian immigrant.
The young boy’s father has now made a public statement saying he wished the bus had been struck by an old white guy, because then his son’s name and memory would not be used in toxic political campaign rhetoric. He called on Sen. J.D. Vance, Donald Trump and Senate candidate Bernie Moreno to stop using his son’s name and apologize for doing so.
It’s particularly galling of Sen. JD Vance who has positioned himself as ‘Mister Pro-Parent’ chastising “childless cat ladies.” And Bernie Moreno who is an immigrant himself and his campaign ads boasts of his fatherhood
There’s now out an old picture of Trump supporter and endorser RFK Jr. holding a skinned and grilled dog on a skewer pretending to take an big bite out of it. Did Vance and Trump see that and mistake him for a Haitian migrant in Springfield?
