BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct 4 – Villagers of Mukim Berakas A started voting to elect a new penghulu candidate in the Voting and Selection Ceremony for Penghulu Mukim Berakas A, held at the Theater Hall, Brunei and Muara District Department, today.
Present at the opening of the event was the representative of Zone 2 District, a member of the National Assembly as the Head of Kampung Belimbing, the Honorable Haji Daud bin Jihan.
In this voting, three candidates were brought to vote to fill the position of Penghulu Mukim Berakas A.
Meanwhile, media interviews with some villagers under the catchment of Mukim Berakas A, on average, expressed hope that the selected candidate would be able to lead the villages under his catchment well in addition to being a two-way intermediary to maintain the safety of the villages under his care.
While a resident from Kampung Pancha Delima, Haji Zaini bin Haji Pungut, who came to vote with his family, shared his hope that if the name voted for was successful in holding the position, it was hoped that the candidate would be able to carry out the trust given to him well, fairly, honest and trustworthy.
Accordingly, residents of Mukim Berakas A who are 18 years of age and above are welcome to vote for the election of Penghulu Mukim Berakas A until October 6.
