WADSWORTH, Ohio — Without Jacob Earnest’s block of an extra point in the first overtime Friday night at Wadsworth’s Art Wright Stadium, it might still be playing Nordonia.
Neither football team went long without a response in their Suburban League showdown, but Earnest’s block set up the Grizzlies for their winning score on the following possession. Freshman quarterback Brysen Hall found Calix Lemp — for the second straight week in an overtime game — with Jack Dinwiddie’s extra point ending it, a 37-36 victory.
It keeps Wadsworth (7-0), ranked sixth in the cleveland.com Top 25, in firm position to defend its Suburban League National Conference championship.
