The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, recently unveiled the Dubai Startup Guide, a comprehensive handbook aimed at assisting entrepreneurs and startups in successfully establishing their businesses in Dubai.
The guide was launched just ahead of Expand North Star 2024, the mega gathering of startups and investors that kicked off at Dubai Harbour on Sunday, October 13 and runs until October 16.
The guide, which provides a detailed roadmap for setting up companies and entrepreneurial ventures in the emirate, covers critical elements including legal requirements, business set-up options and funding opportunities.
It also highlights key entities and stakeholders that support startups, offering vital information on accelerators, incubators, regulatory sandboxes and free zones that cater to Dubai’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
The startup guide is a key resource for entrepreneurs
The Dubai Startup Guide is designed not only for local entrepreneurs but also for international startups looking to tap into Dubai’s diverse and flourishing digital economy.
The guide provides sector-specific insights into setting up businesses within ten key areas of the digital economy, including artificial intelligence (AI), 3D printing, cybersecurity, digital assets, fintech, edtech, gaming, healthtech, software and SaaS, and the metaverse and Web3.
Each sector’s section includes specialised free zones, relevant accelerators, incubators, regulatory sandboxes, and industry-specific events and regulations.
“Dubai is one of the most attractive destinations for startups, thanks to its robust business infrastructure, innovative ecosystem, and government initiatives designed to support entrepreneurs,” said a spokesperson from the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. “The Dubai Startup Guide will provide both local and international startups with a structured approach to navigating the city’s business landscape and will support their long-term success.”
A global hub for digital innovators
Expand North Star 2024 features more than 1,800 startups from over 100 countries showcasing their innovations to a global audience of investors, industry experts, and corporate leaders.
This year’s edition has attracted around 1,200 invite-only investors, making it the largest gathering of vetted investors at any startup event worldwide.
Senior partners from these funds are meeting startups across various sectors to explore new growth opportunities and foster collaborations that will drive the future of business innovation in Dubai and beyond.
