What will the weather be like on the weekend of October 26 and 27? After a sunny Friday over two thirds of the country, where only the Atlantic coast, the Côte d’Azur as well as the Gard and the Cévennes will be affected by more or less intense rain, a new Cévennes episode will take place and cause new disturbances in the south of France this weekend.
“There are still many uncertainties about the location and intensity of this Mediterranean episode, but the cumulative rainfall expected between Friday and Sunday could be locally significant, especially since this precipitation will occur in a context of saturated soils” , indicates Météo France. Friday October 25
The weather will be mild across a large part of the country, with temperatures around 20 degrees. But the new Cévennes episode should begin to affect the Mediterranean coast. The climate will be stormy from Hérault to the Alpes-Maritimes, as well as in Corsica, and sometimes very rainy showers are expected.
“From the Gard to the Cévennes, the rains become more continuous and are also accompanied by thunderstorms, with accumulations of around 15 to 30 mm, or locally 60 to 100 mm over the day”, also warns Météo France .
Saturday October 26
If the northern half of the country will continue to benefit from good clearing periods, the southern half will face new bad weather. For Météo France, “the day should be monitored closely, with an intensification of bad weather in the south-eastern quarter of the country”.
In detail, the storms should extend from the south of the Rhône-Alpes region to the PACA region, as well as to the east of Languedoc. “Significant accumulations of rain are expected, particularly on the coast from Bouches-du-Rhône to the Alpes-Maritimes,” details the meteorological institute. The south-west of France will also be affected by bad weather, but less intense.
Sunday October 27
A few rainy episodes will still be expected in the south-eastern quarter of the country, but precipitation should decrease compared to Saturday. The rest of the country should benefit from sunny weather and mild temperatures.
Over the entire weekend, the Cévennes episode should be less intense than the previous one. But “significant accumulations over short periods cannot be ruled out,” warns Météo France.
