What I needed

Hertha professional Michaël Cuisance has rediscovered the joy of football thanks to his son. “My son changed my life. He was what I needed in the last two years. He gave me a lot of strength. Everything I do, I do for him and my family,” the midfielder said in an interview with rbb.

Between 2019 and 2022, the 25-year-old Frenchman was under contract with FC Bayern Munich and had an overall unsuccessful time. After stints in Italy and at VfL Osnabrück, the father of a two-year-old son finally ended up in Berlin. “When I go onto the pitch, I think of my family. My wife and son are in the stadium for every game,” reported Cuisance.

Pacemaker Cuisance and Maza

In July, Hertha signed Cuisance from FC Venice for around 300,000 euros. With two assists and one goal, he is one of the Berlin team’s most noticeable players so far in the young season. In particular, the interaction with midfield colleague Ibrahim Maza (18) is getting better and better. In the 2-0 win in Nuremberg, both assisted one goal each and created a lot of goal-scoring danger with their finishes.

Cuisance clearly feels at home in the capital. “I only wanted Hertha. I really, really like this Berlin way,” he said of the Berlin vision of developing their own talents and integrating them into the professional team. The Old Lady is currently seventh in the table and will host SV Elversberg on Sunday (1:30 p.m.).
