BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 24 OCT – His Royal Highness His Royal Highness His Royal Highness His Royal Highness His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Deputy Sultan agreed to address ASEAN ministers and heads of delegations attending the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management 12 (AMMDM) which is taking place in Brunei Darussalam from 24 to 25 October, where Brunei Darussalam is the chairman of the meeting for 2024.
During the meeting which took place at Qasr Al-Mezan, DYTM Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the arrival of ASEAN ministers to Brunei Darussalam and the commitment given to increase ASEAN cooperation in improving the region’s resilience in disaster management and towards fostering a safer and more empowered ASEAN.
Present to lead the meeting was the Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman as the 12th AMMDM chairman.
Also present were the Deputy Secretary General of ASEAN, Nararya S. Soeprapto and the Executive Director of the ASEAN Coordination Center for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Management (AHA Center), Lee Yam Ming.
AMMDM functions as a platform for ASEAN member countries to study and discuss the implementation of regional strategies and policies on disaster management, especially in risk reduction to increase disaster resilience in the region.
