The Ministry of Defense of Armenia denies another report of the Military Department of Azerbaijan about the opening of fire by the Armed Forces of Armenia in the direction of Azerbaijani positions.

“The statement of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan that allegedly on September 4, around 7:35 p.m., units of the RA Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of the Azerbaijani positions located in the southwestern part of the border zone, does not correspond to reality,” said the press release of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.

The Defense Department of Armenia reminds again that the staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia had suggested to create a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating cases of ceasefire violations and/or information about them, to which Azerbaijan has not yet responded.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported in the evening that the units of the Armenian Armed Forces shelled the positions of the Azerbaijani army with small arms in the direction of the Ordubadi region of Nakhichevan today at around 19:35, in response to which “adequate measures were taken”.

Baku also spread similar messages a week ago, which Yerevan denied.
