Curiosities and celebrities: It is the British news agency PA that claims to have sources on Ferrell’s involvement in the traditional English club.

The background is that the 56-year-old has bought a larger stake in the company 49ers Enterprises, which owns Leeds. From before, actor Russell Crowe, swimming legend Michael Phelps and golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas are on the ownership side.

Spieth, who has won three Majors in his career, confirmed last year that he and Thomas have bought minority stakes in Leeds.

Will Ferrell is a co-owner of the Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC. He revealed last year that he is also a big fan of English football. Then he was in the stands during the match between Erling Braut Haaland’s Manchester City and Aston Villa.

On the same trip, Ferrell saw Wrexham defeat Wealdstone. The former club is owned by fellow actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Leeds are fighting for a return to the Premier League. The club could have moved up directly on Saturday, but did not have the results on their side. Thus, promotion qualification awaits in the future.

On Saturday, Southampton lost 1-2.

Daniel Farke’s team face Norwich in the first round of promotion qualification. The match takes place at Carrow Road next Sunday.
