Weather: Ulltveit-Moe confirms opposite Today’s business that he withdrew his candidacy.

The 81-year-old was up for re-election by the election committee, but the billionaire faced a bench proposal from Kristoffer Robin Haug, who is also from Akershus. Ulltveit-Moe says that he does not feel pressured, and that he would probably have resigned anyway.

He says the decision has to do with MDG’s political direction.

– What I am concerned with is the climate challenge. I think it already covers a lot of the topics of inequality, nature, and so on, and that the right thing is therefore to have it as the main point for everything you do politically, he says and continues:

– Then I observe that the party is moving much more in the direction of being a green people’s party. It must look at many other areas in addition to climate, and that dilutes climate. Although inequality, solidarity, immigration are all important areas, by all means, says Ulltveit-Moe.

He adds that he also wishes MDG was a more consistent bloc-independent party, also locally.
