Sport: This is stated by circuit leader Erik Solberg in an interview with The online newspaper.
– We think it is wise to replace them at regular intervals so that you don’t get stuck, he says.
Torbjørn Skogstad has been in office since 2012 and received a lot of criticism last year when it became known that he had raised an allowance of close to NOK 950,000.
Solberg points out that the leader of the cross-country committee works with performance groups that are constantly developing.
– That’s why I think it’s good that you regularly get new thoughts and ideas about how things should be done, says the circuit leader.
Vegard Ulvang has an impressive cross-country career behind him with, among other things, three Olympic golds, two World Cup golds and nine World Cup victories. He also has a past with top positions in the International Ski Federation (FIS).
– We believe Vegard has good competence and leadership experience from his time as head of the cross-country committee in FIS. Vegard has extensive experience as a top athlete and as a leader at a high level, says Solberg.
Ulvang has not answered Nettavisen’s inquiries on Monday.
