BLACKPINK’s lead singer and rapper made a stunning entrance on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In a nod to this year’s dress code, the music star gave a unique performance wearing a flowy cobalt blue minidress to represent the seaone of three areas of the exhibition that focuses on the wonders of the natural world.
Jennie’s ensemble was made from a vibrant ruched fabric that wrapped around her body, creating a cropped silhouette. The top part of her transformed into a cape that fell to the ground becoming a tail. For added sparkle, she wore a pearl-embellished belt and completed her look with matching blue heels.

Jennie, an ambassador for Calvin Klein and Chanel, made her debut on the red carpet at the Met Gala in 2023, when she wore a vintage Chanel dress in tribute to the fashion house’s late creative director, Karl Lagerfeld.

The theme is parallel to that of the exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”which focuses on the most fragile pieces in the Costume Institute’s vast collection.
The exhibition, which will be open to the public from May 10 to September 2, features garments so delicate that they cannot be displayed on mannequins. The Costume Institute funds its work, including exhibitions and acquisitions, with the blockbuster Met Gala.
