Over 50 have lost their lives in the floods in Brazil

Accidents and natural disasters: Tens of people are also missing, and over 24,000 people have had to leave their homes as a result of floods.

A total of 265 local communities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul are affected. It is located in the south of the country and borders Uruguay and Argentina.

The flood is caused by heavy rainfall. In a number of cities, streets have turned into rivers, and roads and bridges have been destroyed. The storm has also led to landslides.

It is the fourth flood disaster to hit Brazil in a year. The floods in July, September and November 2023 claimed a total of 75 lives.
