Economy and business: The strong increase is due to both record-high net financial investments in the four-year period, but also unusually large net gains in three of the four years, according to SSB.
Last year, the net financial investments, which is the difference between the financial investments and the net transaction in the debt, was calculated at NOK 90 billion, compared to NOK 60 billion in 2022.
The net gains, which are mainly due to price fluctuations in the stock market, were calculated at NOK 184 billion in 2023, compared to a net loss of NOK 128 billion in 2022.
The debt, on the other hand, is developing moderately, with an increase of NOK 160 billion in 2023, which is roughly the same as the previous year.
