The format “The Beautiful Morning” with Kerstin Hermes and Julia Menger on the RBB station Radioeins was awarded the best morning show at the German Radio Awards in Hamburg. “Delivering at the highest level and sounding completely different from all the others,” judged the jury of the Grimme Institute.
The German Radio Prize, which has been awarded since 2010, is considered the most important prize in the industry and was presented this year in front of around 1,000 guests at the Stage Theater Neue Flora. “We are here today to celebrate radio,” said presenter Katrin Bauerfeind at the start of the show.
The awards are presented in ten categories. Musical radio stars also took to the stage, including DJ Lost Frequencies. The gala was streamed live and broadcast by numerous public and private radio stations. (dpa)
