BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 23 – A total of 40 participants consisting of residents of Mukim Bokok attended the Opening Ceremony for the Information Society Program (PMB) at the Auditorium Hall, Department of Information, recently.
The PMB which lasted for two days was attended by Acting Senior Information Officer, Dayang Saadiatul Nur Aqilah binti Haji Jaman and Yang Dipertua MKOKU.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Assistant Foreign Information Officer, Haji Mahmud Hafidzie bin Haji Awang Ali Mashod, followed by a welcome speech by the Head of Temburong District Information Branch, Dayang Izzah Hazirah binti Haji Adi Othman.
In her speech, Dayang Izzah Hazirah said the program, among other things, aims to increase public awareness of our role and responsibilities in developing the country, increase understanding of the field of entrepreneurship and programs offered by government or private agencies.
He went on to add that through the program, participants are expected to understand the government’s efforts in overcoming the issue of unemployment and encouraging economic growth in addition to providing inspiration to participants through study visits to local enterprises.
In line with the purpose of the program, which is to inject enthusiasm and inspire members of the community in efforts to improve living standards, knowledge and exposure to activities to increase capacity and knowledge, several briefing sessions and visits to selected government agencies were organized in accordance with the theme at the time this is Entrepreneurship.
