Policy: Taiwan’s newly elected President Lai Ching-te will be inaugurated in May.

– Our expectations, especially in this important and sensitive period until the inauguration on 20 May, is that all countries contribute to peace and stability, and that they avoid provocative actions that could lead to increased tension, but instead show restraint, said a US official on Saturday.

The statement came in connection with the announcement that Blinken will visit China from 24 to 26 April.
