Sport: Lyon had 3-2 from the first match, and the white jerseys secured a place in the final after 2-1 in match two.

They did that without Ada Hegerberg on the pitch. The national team striker has not played a game since March 9.

In the final, they meet Caroline Graham Hansen and Ingrid Syrstad Engen’s Barcelona. The reigning Champions League champions qualified for the finals for the fourth consecutive year on Saturday after beating Chelsea 2-1 over two games.

In other words, the stage is set for a final between the heavyweights in women’s club football. In Bilbao on May 25, Graham Hansen & co. revenge for the final losses against the same opponent in 2019 and 2022.

The starting point was even better when the visitors opened up and took the lead. Selma Bacha hammered in 1-0 from the outside of the 16-metre area after two minutes had been played.

PSG created excitement when they reduced the score via Tabita Chawinga five minutes before half-time, but Lyon held out for the last 45. Ten minutes before the end, Melchie Dumornay put the nail in the coffin.

Two years ago, Lyon won both semi-final matches against PSG en route to their ninth and last title to date.

Hegerberg has played at the club since 2014, and earlier this month she extended her contract until 2027.

Barcelona are reigning Champions League champions after a 3-2 win over Wolfsburg last year. Lyon has the most final titles in history (eight).

Lyon secured a good starting point for the second leg after turning around to win within six minutes of the first leg.

Lyon has already decided the French series. Hegerberg’s team are eleven points ahead of PSG with one round remaining.
