Crime and justice: Also in the British edition of “Rebel Rising”, parts of the chapter are censored, while everything appears in the American version that was published recently in the USA. It writes The Guardian.

The chapter in question is the same one that has earned Rebel Wilson headlines around the world. It deals with the filming of the 2016 film “Grimsby”. Under the chapter title “Sacha Baron Cohen and Other Assholes”, Wilson in the book goes hard on the colleague for bad behavior towards her.

“This is a clear victory for Sacha Baron Cohen and confirms what we have said from the beginning – that this was demonstrably false and a shameful and failed attempt to sell books,” said a comment from the “Borat” actor’s representatives, writes Deadline.

The reason for the censorship is supposed to be differences between the countries when it comes to the legislation around defamation. HarperCollins Australia confirms to The Guardian that the censorship is for legal reasons.

Rebel Wilson has claimed that Sacha Baron Cohen has tried to stop the release. His lawyers have consistently denied the charges.

On Wednesday, they issued a new statement, saying that HarperCollins “did not fact-check this chapter of the book prior to publication, and took the sensible but very belated step of removing Rebel Wilson’s defamatory claims when presented with evidence that they were false.”
