Medicine and health: Book of Ansar My shame was released in 2023, and received a lot of attention. Together with her husband Abid Raja, she has the podcast “Abid and Nadia: Guilt and Shame”.

The jury writes this about the award: “With both her own experiences and high professional competence, Nadia Ansar is a trustworthy and skilled mediator, who contributes to increased knowledge and understanding of important issues. Through personal and professional communication, she helps others to raise their voices and dare to take the necessary steps to become free individuals. We are very happy to be able to give Nadia the Communication Award.”

Nadia Ansar is a psychologist specialist in clinical family psychology and emotion-focused therapy. She obtained her doctorate in emotion-focused skills training for parents in autumn 2022.

She has extensive experience, both personal and professional, in working with depression, shame, relationship trauma, low self-esteem and currently supervises both psychologists and health personnel. This is expertise she uses both as an author and as a communicator, writes For Kvinners Helse in a press release.

In the book My shame she tells about the struggle of a bright girl with a Pakistani background to be allowed to make her own choices and be herself. With both personal and professional knowledge, she helps to focus on how the feeling of shame prevents girls and women from living their own lives.

The award will be presented at the organisation’s annual event at Hotel Bristol on 11 November 2024.
