Sport: The leading goal came after just under half an hour in Bergen. Kornvig had then waited for almost four minutes to take the penalty.

It was uncertain whether Odd’s goalkeeper André Hansen had actually done something wrong when he stopped BÃ¥rd Finne. On the ear, referee Mohammad Usman Aslam was told to check his own decision on a monitor.

After a discussion with the match’s VAR officer, he agreed that the penalty should stand.

– It is a good use of VAR that he gets the opportunity to look at it. Even we who sit here may think that the situation is not obvious, said expert Yaw Amankwah in TV 2’s studio broadcast.

Odd coach Kenneth Dokken did not think the penalty situation was of the clear type.

– It’s very soft, but that’s how it is, he told TV 2 before the second round.

Only four minutes into overtime secured, Aune Heggebø replaces the victory. Then Casper Glenna had guarded the Odd cage for a few minutes after an injury forced Hansen to leave the pitch.

The visitors had made all their substitutions and had to finish with ten men.

After five games, Brann has ten points. Odd has three points less.

On Wednesday, both Brann and Odd will play the 2nd round in the cup, while the week ends with series matches against KFUM Oslo away and Viking at home, respectively.

Kornvig was safe from the penalty spot and sent Hansen the wrong way. It was the Dane’s first goal in the Eliteserien since the winter’s transition from Italian football.

Brann ruled the home game, but could not remove the tension. As in midweek (1-0 against HamKam), it lived until the very end.
