Social conditions: – For me, it’s about being on the right side of history, says Roy Steffensen NRK.

According to the channel, it is he, Terje Halleland, Bengt Rune Strifeldt, Sivert Bjørnstad and Himanshu Gulati who will go against their own party leadership and vote for the new abortion law.

Until now, it has been uncertain whether the government’s proposal for changes to the law will receive a majority.

FRP leader Sylvi Listhaug has said that the party leadership is against a new abortion law, but only five votes are needed for the change to the law to gain a majority.

The five Frp representatives are unanimous in their point of view, and Steffensen points out that 97 per cent of those who apply to the tribunal for an abortion after 12 weeks, get it granted under the current law.

Gulati tells NRK that he does not want to extend the number of weeks, but he believes it is right that it is the woman who decides as long as 18 weeks have been opened.
