Sport: It was expected that the Vingrom man would get a place in the team. Recently he showed form in the Tour de Alps.
– It would probably have worked anyway, but this victory is probably the nail in the coffin. Admittedly, the team has not been selected yet, Foss told NTB recently after the triumph on the opening stage in Northern Italy.
The Giro runs from 4 to 26 May. Three years ago, Foss was number nine overall in the Grand Tour.
The former pace world champion left the Visma team in favor of Ineos after last year’s season. In Italy, Foss and his teammates will drive for veteran Geraint Thomas (37) in the summary
The Briton won the Tour de France in 2018 and last year was only beaten by Primoz Roglic overall in the Giro.
Thymen Arensman, Ben Swift, Filippo Ganna, Jhonatan Narváez, Magnus Sheffield and Connor Swift are the other Ineos taking to the Giro start.
