Weather: The demonstrations took place outside the Riksdag in March this year.

The case will come before the court on May 8, a court official told the AFP news agency.

Together with several other activists, the Swedish 21-year-old blocked the main entrance to the Riksdag. She was carried away by the police on two occasions.

According to the court documents, Thunberg denies criminal guilt after the indictment.

In August 2018, the then 15-year-old Greta Thunberg sat down outside the Riksdag instead of going to school. She has since become a global icon for the fight against climate change.

Thunberg has twice previously been fined by Swedish courts for civil disobedience. In other countries, including Norway, she has also been removed from action sites by the police.
