Sport: Leverkusen have made a habit of rescuing themselves from defeat with multiple overtime goals this season, but that didn’t look like a repeat against Stuttgart. The visitors led 2-1 when Leverkusen received a free kick in extra time.

In the field, Robert Andrich appeared and knocked the ball into the goal to wild cheers.

Leverkusen secured the league gold earlier in April. It is the club’s very first Bundesliga title.

Chris Führich and Deniz Undav ensured that Stuttgart led 2-0 after just under an hour of play before Amine Adli reduced the score soon after.

Leverkusen can still win both the Europa League and the German Cup in addition to the Bundesliga. A maximum of seven games remain for the team. They face Roma in the semi-finals of the Europa League and Kaiserslautern in the cup final.

Earlier in the season, Alonso was wanted both as a new manager at both Liverpool and Bayern Munich, but he has chosen to stay at Leverkusen next season as well.
