Sport: It happens after Slot confirmed on Thursday that he wanted to go to Liverpool.
– I would like to go to Liverpool. Now I’m waiting to see if the clubs come to an agreement. I’m very confident about that, Slot said to ESPN.
Now several media are reporting, among them The Athletic, that the clubs have arrived at a compensation for the Dutchman’s services. Dutch media also claim that Slot is approaching the Liverpool job.
Liverpool have been on the hunt for a manager since Klopp announced last winter that he was going to leave at the end of the season. The German actually had two years left on his contract.
In the Netherlands, 45-year-old Slot is known for an offensive and energetic playing style. He led Feyenoord to the league title last year and followed up this year by winning the cup.
Slot took the Rotterdam team to the final of the conference league two years ago. He also delivered strong results as AZ Alkmaar coach.
