Curiosities and celebrities: The new April record is 98.7 millimeters of rain – so far. More precipitation is still reported.

The previous record was 0.7 millimeters less rain and was set in 1938.

The start of April was particularly wet for the Danes. Then came half of the rainfall in the new April record.

– In the first five days, 53 millimeters of rain fell, says Mikael Scharling at Denmark’s Meteorological Institute.

For the rest of April, there was only slightly more rainfall than normal.

Weather data from all over the country is included in the calculation of the record. It has rained most in Jutland and on Funen, where more than 150 millimeters of rainfall has been recorded in several places.
