War and conflicts: Eide tells of an enormous will to fight in the Ukrainian forces, but that Zelenskyj is worried that several front lines will be lost to Russian advances in the coming weeks.

– Russia is pushing hard on the long front line, with great determination to experience its own losses, says the foreign minister to NRK Saturday.

Eide is clear that NATO and the EU must step up their support to give Ukraine back the upper hand. He refers to the next few weeks as a fateful time for the country.

– And also for the whole of Europe. It won’t stop with Ukraine if Putin gets his way. He will continue to push further west.

In particular, neighboring countries outside NATO are at risk, Eide believes.

– We see an escalation in Russian influence and fake news. Especially towards countries with fragile and vulnerable democracies.
