Policy: – Our verbal order to remove ourselves from the entrances was not complied with. We have therefore physically removed them from the scene, the police in Oslo sign X / Twitter at 11.47am.
The activists come from the Palestine Committee and the Action Group for Palestine.
The demonstrators blocked the entrances to Norges Bank in connection with a conference on the premises. The theme of the conference is “How to become a better investor”.
The Palestine Committee demands that Norges Bank, the Ethics Council and the Ministry of Finance withdraw the Oil Fund’s investments in companies that they claim supply Israel with weapons or collaborate with the Israeli arms industry.
The police state that there were a total of twelve demonstrators who did not comply with the police’s orders.
– These are transported and taken into custody. All will be reported for not complying with this order.
