Economy and business: The airspace in southern Norway was closed for about three hours on Thursday morning as a result of a technical error. At 9.35 Avinor stated that the airspace could gradually open to normal traffic.

– We expect that there will be delays throughout the day, and there may be cancellations, says senior communications advisor Eline Hyggen Skari at Norwegian to NTB.

It will take time before the planes are on schedule again, she says.

– Avinor has notified us of a cautious opening. All departures will probably not go as planned. There will be a backlog and consequences of several hours of closed airspace, says Hyggen.

Norwegian is working on rebooking passengers who have had their flight cancelled. You can also request a refund if you prefer.

Hyggen emphasizes that those affected will be informed directly by Norwegian. She encourages travelers to meet at the airport as usual.

– We are working to get the customers off the ground, she says.
