Eleven Cities Race | Alexander Kristoff can still do it – sprint to victory on behalf of Uno-X

The Eleven Cities Race is a race of just under 200 kilometers in the Bruges region, which is also the finish location. You would think it was written in the stars that it would be a sprint.

This indeed happened, but not before Thijssen suffered a nasty fall in the final. As a result of the crash at the exit of the last bend, about 2 kilometers from the finish, the peloton broke up, meaning that not all sprinters were in the front group anymore.

Uno-X was on the right side of the divide and was able to determine with three men what happened in the ultimate final. It decided to put Kristoff in position and the Norwegian delivered, giving him his first victory in a year.

Jarne van de Paar was a few centimeters short of making it a double for Lotto Dstny. It now remained a win for Arnaud de Lie in Tro Bro Leon, making that team’s Sunday more than successful.

Last year, Philipsen won the Eleven Cities Race by beating Caleb Ewan and Fabio Jakobsen, but this year the race clashed with the Giro d’Italia due to a new place on the calendar. As a result, not all the big names were present.
