Sport: FFK have not lost since the series opener against Bodø/Glimt and are impressing in their first year in the Eliteserien since 2012. The victory means that Fredrikstad is in 6th place. Sandefjord is still winless.
Morten Bjørlo became today’s man.
– You have to take your hat off, said FFK coach Mikkkjal Thomassen to Fredriksstad Blad.
The start of the season has been rich for the 28-year-old. At first he was not allowed to join Rosenborg at the training camp, but was later included. Not long after, he was ready for FFK.
– I feel I have a lot more in me than I have gotten out. It’s about getting to a place where I can gain confidence and play and show myself off. I still think there is much more inside, said Bjørlo to Fredriksstad Blad.
Against Sarpsborg, he was tackled badly and knocked out completely. In the last two games, he has been absolutely decisive with two great scores – both right up in the corner. First against Viking a week ago and then on Sunday.
Bjørlo took a touch, got his bearings and chipped the ball over the threatening Sandefjord goalkeeper.
– It is a class score, stated TV 2 expert Yaw Amankwah.
Sandefjord had some great chances in the first half, but could not get the ball over the line. Bjørlo then got the opportunity when he was played forward by Sondre Sørløkk and scored 1-0.
Fredrikstad has got off to a good start in this year’s season. That after having met teams such as Bodø/Glimt, Brann and Viking. Odd, KFUM and Strømsgodset are the next tasks for FFK in the Eliteserien. Before that, it will be Rosenborg in the cup until Wednesday.
For Sandefjord, Molde awaits at the weekend.
