Policy: Tuesday’s announcement from the Biden administration means that employees who earn less than $1,128 a week are entitled to overtime pay if they work more than 40 hours a week. The salary level corresponds to an annual salary of around 58,600 dollars, which at today’s exchange rate is 645,000 kroner.
Until now, the scheme covered those who earned $35,500 or less a year. That amount limit was set under Donald Trump in 2020. Several Democrats and advocates for workers’ rights believe it made the arrangement inadequate.
