– I myself was present in Bergen in connection with the Champions League match and got to experience how much commitment and interest in football there is in the city. We can’t wait to get there and experience the fantastic support for ourselves. This could be an absolutely decisive match in an open group, and therefore it is important that the public helps us extra along the way, says national team manager Gemma Grainger.
The last time the Norwegian soccer women played an international match in Bergen was way back in 2019. Then they beat England 2-1 in front of 10,830 spectators.
Norway is in the qualification group together with Italy, the Netherlands and Finland. After two games, all teams are on three points. Grainger’s women opened the qualifiers with a 4-0 win over Finland, before suffering a 0-1 loss away to the Netherlands.
